I will receive my AA degrees in Behavioral Science, Liberal Science and Arts and Humanities in the spring of 2016 and transferring to Cal Poly Pomona in the fall 2016. My current GPA is 3.5. Some Relevant Coursework is as follows: ASL 1- Elementary American Sign Language fluency. COMSTD 12 and COMSTD 8 -Communications and public speaking experience. ED-10- Educational Apprentice Fontana School District- 2009. PSYCH 1- Elementary psychology. Spanish 1 - Elementary Spanish. Finally, I am an award winning journalism broadcast news writer and multiple-award winning scholarship essay writer.
Experience
I am currently a part-time Instructional Apprentice at a community college. I work with students to help them achieve their academic goals. My future goal is to work as a teacher in a K-12 educational environment. Tutoring is very rewarding. I enjoy helping others learn and gain confidence with each step of success in education. Additionally, being a mother of two young adults I have always enjoyed working with them on school projects during their elementary through high school years and helping them achieve academic success. I have previous experience as a private tutor for K-12 students and volunteer experience for a California Distinguished School. Some of the experience I have gained in my current position as an Instructional Apprentice is as follows: •Implemented classroom and extracurricular activities to increase student participation. •Led presentations to students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds. •Created and developed student documents, class event itineraries for Educational Adviser. •Counseled at-risk students on expectations for academic success.
